The Samasat Gated Community developments is divided in three areas:

  • Samarcanda , on the south-west corner of the property, sits on the highest crest of the whole Samasati’s land, blessed with a splendid view of the ocean.  The local landowner from whom we bought the property (the late Domingo Cordoba) had dedicated this area to grow a enough bananas trees and coffee plants for his (quiet large) family’s use. So this part of land was already free of big old trees, although is completely surrounded by forest and a creek is running in the narrow canyon.

  • Osho Garden, the heart of the property, is a valley created by a fairly large creek.  Because of the relatively large extension of flat land ( at least compared to the hilly rest of the property), Domingo used this area to grow corn, beans and fruits like pineapples and citrus (everything was organic back then). We left the pineapples bushes and the citrus trees, and converted the once-corn and-beans-patches into lovely building areas, surrounded by forest and lulled by the sound of the creek.

  • Buddha Trail is a old trail that run on the property’s north-east crest, parallel to the ocean. Most properties located on Buddha Trail are on the side the overlooks the ocean, and two of the properties are on the side of the trail that is immersed in the jungle. No agriculture was ever done here, so plenty of big, big trees.
